I am Idovia R. Louima. My love for Haiti and the Island of La Tortue has compelled me to join this movement. TIU wants to build a hospital. It’s that simple a dream, but one that I know will be impactful to this generation and many others on the Island. I wanted to join a this cause because too many are dying due to lack of basic medical assistance in this age of modern advances. I am invested in making this dream a reality for our brothers and sisters in La Tortue. I'm aware that this project cannot come to life without unity, solidarity, and love. I pray TIU accomplishes this goal and becomes the blueprint for how a grassroots movement rallies, organizes, and flat out gets things done in Haiti.

I am Dieulila Pierre. I was born and raised in La Tortue. I was invited to TIU to become part of this grand project. I remember when it used to take us four hours to get to the big hospital. As a Health Care Administrator, I feel my contribution will benefit the people from my country. Therefore, I want to fully engage myself in this operation to bring my support to TIU. I am passionate about this project, and I look forward to seeing the realization of the community hospital in my hometown.

TIU Executive Board Member I have to tell you, once I heard of the Community Hospital Project, I knew I had to get involved in any way possible! The project is going to be located just a couple of miles away from where I was born and grew up. Being from the area, I know that family members and those in need would benefit from such an initiative. I could not pass up the opportunity to be apart of a team that is going to do everything in their power to make this project a reality. May God bless everyone involved in this project.

My name is Esther. I am a graduate and acute clinical observation registered nurse. I’ve always had a deep passion for helping others. TIU drew my attention with their goals, values, and mission. They made me realize that despite being a novice in my career, my passion can help build-up the healthcare system of La Tortue.

As a proud Haitian woman and entrepreneur, I have always wanted to do something special for my beautiful country of Haiti in a meaningful and impactful way. I believe it is my responsibility to give back to the Haitian community. I intend to help TIU become more successful by ensuring it has adequate resources to advance its mission. I’m thankful and enthusiastic for the opportunity to be a part of such a humble group. I am strongly motivated and ready to work. Haiti needs us!

When my time here is done, I hope to be remembered as someone who devoted her life to the betterment of others. Life loses its meaning if we live solely for ourselves.  I have been blessed to experience life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and nurse—each role a unique part of the shared human experience. It is both my responsibility and honor to serve others, and I will do so with joy.
